House Tour Fundraiser – Final Weekends
July 29, 30 Aug 5, 6 1:00, 3:00, 5:00 $15/person
Pre -1850s Thorne Family Property:
Ron Beavers and Karen Lewis bought this beautiful house in 2014 and have made extensive renovations to restore many of the original features of the house, which was built pre-1850. They have offered to give tours of their home as a fundraiser for the Skaneateles Historical Society and Museum at The Creamery.
Many additions to the original house were made over the years which resulted in challenges for the architect and constriction company that helped with renovations. Trim and crown molding were replicated; a floating staircase was reinforced with steel braces and foam; the original front door, found in the basement, was put back in place, complete with the original lock-and-key mechanism for which they had to purchase parts from England.
Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to hear the history and see renovations made to this unique house.
